Day four: banana banana banana
One of Critter's therapists canceled today, but that didn't end up clearing much time. Wednesday is generally a chore day, and the sort of chores I can't really put off - like vacuuming the central areas of the house, doing a load of laundry, and studying the grocery to make next week's menus. Have I mentioned how much I love tracking this stuff in Excel? This wonderful fellow created report cards for monitoring daily progress. I used it last year, too. It has the added bonus of Critter-pleasing features. Each day he's asking to see my bar graphs, and they make him dance in absolute joy. Yep, he has a major thing for bar graphs.

“I’ll give my parents a call later,” Sid said. “Meet up with them, sit down, tell them about Abigail’s power and what we hope to achieve.”
I arched an eyebrow. I wasn’t even sure what we hoped to achieve, other than subverting the Guild and risking my house in a magnificent bonfire.
“Why do you need to tell them about me?” Abigail said, sullen tone softened by curiosity.
Sid took a deep breath. “My little sister Maria was a fire-starter. Not a full-body immolator like you, but a finger-touch starter. Hers started when she was two, and she couldn’t control it, and then when she did she got caught in a snowstorm and froze to death.”
Oh, and poem four has been completed as well.
Edit: And relevant NaNoWriMo comic from the cats of Two Lumps.

I enjoyed the excerpt too. It sounds like it's going to be an exciting novel.
